Porcini Garlic Tofu

300 grams firm tofu

1 tablespoon BeoHarvest Porcini Powder

1 tablespoon brown suger

1 tablespoon soy sauce

3 cloves of garlic | finely minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish

1 spring onion | chopped for garnish

Step I

Tofu has high water content and excess liquid needs to be removed. This can be done by placing 4 paper towels on a plate, set tofu on top, then add more paper towels on the tofu. Place a heavy cast iron pan on top (or something similar) and let sit for 30 minutes.

Step II

Grab a medium bowl and mix in the soy sauce, sugar, garlic and porcini powder.

Step III

Cut the tofu into cubes or bite size pieces and place into the bowl with sauce. Mix well and make sure the tofu is coated, set aside for 30 minutes.

Step IV

Over high heat, add olive oil in a medium pan. Add tofu when pan is really hot and sear. Flip the tofu and sear the other side, continue until all sides are seared and drizzle with sesame seeds. Remove from heat.

Step V

Sprinkle the tofu with green onions and pair it with rice. Enjoy!
